WWE Summerslam 2014 Betting Tips

We are just one week away from WWE Summerslam 2014 and it is looking to be quite the event. Jack Swagger takes on the unbeatable Rusev, while the main event is John Cena vs Brock Lesnar. Hopefully those two can bring the magic that they did last time they fought as that was my favourite match of 2013.

Brie Bella also takes on Stephanie McMahon in a match that I am very curious about. I think it should actually be a good match. Stephanie isn’t going to go out there and embarass herself. Overall, should be a fairly solid card.

Let’s check out the betting odds and then analyze each match:

  • Jack Swagger (-285) vs Rusev (+205)

Let’s analyze each match from a betting perspective:

WWE Summerslam 2014 Betting Tips & Analysis:

Brock Lesnar (-420) vs John Cena (+310): John Cena won the first match between the two. I see no reason that he wins here. However -430 is just too big a price to bet on Brock Lesnar. It’s not worth the risk at those odds – especially when putting the title on him means we may not see the title all bloody year.

Roman Reigns (-750) vs Randy Orton (+450): Reigns will win this. I’d bet my house on it. But I wouldn’t bet at the odds of -750. It’s just too much of a risk, and this is one I won’t take. You never know when WWE might try and sneak in a DQ finish or something.

Bray Wyatt (-900) vs Chris Jericho (+500): Ditto with the match above. Plus WWE have used Chris Jerichos returns to shock us on occassions – giving him wins when we don’t expect it. Not worth the risk.

Brie Bella (-120) vs Stephanie McMahon (-120): Tremendous value on Stephanie McMahon here. All we’re reading all week is the rumours of Bries’ sister, Nikki Bella, turning on her. Plus do you really see Steph putting Brie over? This one is great value. Bet Stephanie all the way up to -250.

Jack Swagger (-285) vs Rusev (+205): This one made us stop and think for a second. We expected Rusev to be a huge favourite and are slightly concerned that this is one where the bookies know. But we just can’t see it. WWE seem to be sticking the course with Rusev. Bet the absolute hell out of Rusev.

AJ Lee (-290) vs Paige (+210): We love the Divas matches because in the eye of the WWE – the results rarely matter. So it gives us great betting opportunities. Paige is by no means a lock, but there’s a good chance she gets the win to keep her strong, especially with the aforementioned potential Bella feud. Bet on Paige.

The Miz (-410) vs Dolph Ziggler (+290): We think this is a great opportunity for WWE to give Dolph the Intercontinental Title. A big date is coming up for WWE in terms of letting everyone know the quantity of WWE Network subscribers. They want to appease their big internet fan base, and nothing better than giving D-Zizzle the title. Easy bet of Ziggler at +290.

Dean Ambrose (-120) vs Seth Rollins (-120): This is pretty much a coin flip – although at -120 odds it’s a crappy coinflip to do! Both guys could go over. However we’d lean towards Rollins. We think he needs the win more than Ambrose – his character is nowhere near as flshed out as Ambrose. We’d go as high as -150 on Rollins. Bet Rollins to win.
