NJPW G1 2021: Night 3 & 4 Betting Tips

The first two nights of the NJPW G1 are in the books – however you have to wonder if they are cursed.

Tetsuya Naito unfortunately has suffered an injury to his knee after his match with Zach Sabre Jr and has pulled out of the tournament.

Everyone who he was to fight will be given wins, and they will still actually wrestler on the card just under a different opponent.

He was the Block A favourite at +125 odds too which makes it interesting to see how they rebook that.

We went 2-1 with two big underdog wins to open it up.

Let’s get into Night 3 and 4 – bet it at non-US Sportsbook (Americans: Bet at BetOnline).

NJPW G1 Night 3 Betting Odds & Tips:

  • Great-O-Khan (-200) vs Toru Yano (+140)
  • KENTA (-278) vs Yujiro Takahashi (+190)
  • Kota Ibushi (-118) vs Tomohiro Ishii (-118)
  • Shingo Takagi (-250) vs Zack Sabre Jr. (+175)

Toru Yano is undefeated against Great-O-Khan but I believe that ends here and Khan gets the win. No bet for me.

Takahashi comes in off a shock victory over Ibushi. The storyline there seems to be more that Ibushi wasn’t 100% so will take time to get going. I think KENTA takes this.

With Ibushi possibly taking time to get going, I feel good backing 1/2u on Ishii to win.

Finally with them having to reshuffle, I think that could mean Zack Sabre Jr. get’s pushed strongly during the G1. I could be wrong – but if he is going to, then it begins in the main event here. 1/4u on Zack Sabre Jr. at +175 Odds.

NJPW G1 Night 4 Betting Odds & Tips:

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi (-295) vs Hirooki Goto (+200)
  • Tama Tonga (-230) vs Chase Owens (+160)
  • Jeff Cobb (-295) vs Yoshi-Hashi (+200)
  • SANADA (-155) vs Taichi (+110)
  • Kazuchika Okada (-118) vs EVIL (-118)

Tanahashi vs Goto should be a good one. I can’t bring myself to bet it but I don’t hate an upset bet on Goto after beating the Ace in their last two and his performance at this venue.

Small 1/4u bet on Chase Owens at +160. I made this decision during the Cobb match and seeing how much offense he got.

Feels like Cobb shouldn’t be losing agaisnt Yoshi-Hashi. Of course it’s the G1 and anything can happen.

Nothing for SANADA vs Taichi. I’m going to do 1/4u on Okada to win to follow up from his Castle Attack victory.
