NJPW G1 Climax 30: Nights 5/6 Betting Tips & Odds

First of all a quick note that I actually missed the Night 5 betting tips of the G1 Climax, and am writing this after the fact (and the day before Night 6).

I’m just combining this as a Night 5/Night 6 post so I can list the odds here and look them up for historical purposes.

Night 5 was an absolute banger of a show. It started slow but then we had three excellent matches all with different styles which is what I love about wrestling.

I’ve also became such a Jay White fan over the last little while ha. I ended up taking advantage of that 30% off sale at PW Tees and got a few t-shirts including a SWITCH BLADE ERA one.

So okay first of all here were the Night 5 odds:

NJPW G1 Climax Night 5 Betting Odds:

  • Taichi (-650) vs Yujiro Takahashi (+350)
  • Jeff Cobb (-135) vs Minoru Suzuki (-105)
  • Kota Ibushi (-350) vs Tomohiro Ishii (+225)
  • Will Ospreay (-125) vs Shingo Takagi (-110)
  • Jay White (-140) vs Kazuchika Okada (+100)

Takagi beating Ospreay was the upset of the night. Betting tips wise – that doesn’t surprise me. Ospreay beat Takagi at the BOSJ so doesn’t surprise me to see this result.

NJPW G1 Climax Night 6 Betting Odds:

  • EVIL (-400) vs Toru Yano (+250)
  • Tetsuya Naito (-455) vs Hirooki Goto (+280)
  • SANADA (-1000) vs Yoshi-Hashi (+500)
  • KENTA (-155) vs Zack Sabre Jr. (+110)
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi (-230) vs Juice Robinson (+160)

NJPW G1 Climax Night 6 Betting Tips:

EVIL is 1-1 and Toru Yano is 2-0. Two big surprise results for Yano. It’s been fun but I’ve got to think the run ends here and EVIL takes this one. As much as I’d love Yano to pick up the W.

Naito is 2-0 as he takes on Goto. Naito has never lost to Goto in the G1. I think Goto is worth a small bet on the potential upset. 1/4u on Goto to win.

The battle of the 0-2 guys with SANADA and Yoshi-Hashi. Surely SANADA gets going here dude was like one of the big favourites for Block B. Of course Jay White showed last year 0-3 doesn’t mean you are down and out. I wouldn’t be shocked if they go that route but I’m not betting it. Oh screw it 1/4u on Yoshi-Hashi. At that price I have to.

I thought ZSJ was excellent against EVIL. ZSJ looked to be going for the IWGP US Heavyweight title against Mox before COVID messed it all up.KENTA losing to ZSJ last year though in the G1 makes me think he will get revenge. I’m rooting for ZSJ, but 1/2u on KENTA to win.

After beating KENTA, I think Juice eats the loss here. 2-0 vs 0-2 it seems like this is where it’ll balance out. No bet at those odds but I expect Tanahashi gets the win.
