NJPW Night 17 & 18 Betting Odds & Tips

Welcome to the betting tips and odds for the final two nights of the G1 blocks.

I absolutely crushed it on night 16. I went 3-0, with three underdog wins on Jeff Cobb +125, Chase Owens +250, and my proudest pick of Tama Tonga +550.

Tama Tonga winning was the biggest upset of the tournament and with only a couple of shows left, I doubt it will be beat.

I hope all of you jumped on that one. This has been an insanely profitable G1. It’s also an insanely well booked tournament. Going into the final nights here it is mental. I mean it’s no “put a guy in the tournament where the finals are in Saudi Arabia and he isn’t allowed to go there” booking but it’s still something special.

Honestly for the winners and all that it’s a lot of guesswork here.

Let’s get to the betting tips:

NJPW G1 Night 17 Odds & Tips

  • Tomohiro Ishii (-315) vs Toru Yano (+210)
  • Shingo Takagi (-500) vs Yujiro Takahashi (+300)
  • Zack Sabre Jr. (-215) vs Tanga Loa (+150)
  • Kota Ibushi (-162) vs KENTA (+115)
  • Block A Winner Odds: Kota Ibushi +160, KENTA +210, Zack Sabre Jr. +210, Shingo Takagi +350

Expect Ishii rehab to continue with a win.

Takagi is expected to win to keep him in the tournament and reliant on the other matches. If you are looking for upsets this is one they could pull but I can’t see it myself. Yujiro did play spoiler with Ibushi early on and probably would have lost to Naito. So they could bookend spoilers for him. I doubt it though. I can’t bring myself to tip that one.

This is mental honestly – I sat around with my friend and we spent a good hour discussing all this. In the space of 5 minutes we changed our mind on it multiple times.

I’m going to go with KENTA to win the block at +210 odds for 1/4u.

NJPW G1 Night 18 Odds & Tips

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi (-190) vs Taichi (+134)
  • Hirooki Goto (-150) vs Tama Tonga (+108)
  • Chase Owens (-177) vs Yoshi-Hashi (+125)
  • SANADA (-118) vs EVIL (-118)
  • Kazuchika Okada (-177) vs Jeff Cobb (+125)

1/4u on Tama Tonga. I just feel it would be a waste of that Okada win.

Tanahashi likely wins to keep him strong. Chase vs Yoshi could go either way but I’ve been a big fan of Chase this tournament and think he wins.

1/4u on SANADA to get the win and get him more points on the board.

Then we have the main. No bet in that. As I feel Okada wins. Probably makes Cobb tap out or pass out just before the time limit draw.

1/4u on Okada vs KENTA as the final at +325 odds.
