WWE Payback 2015 Betting Tips

On May 17th, 2015 WWE heads to Baltimore to host WWE Payback.

Coming off the back of two tremendous RAWs, this looks to be a fairly average show. Nothing too major happening, but the potential for a lot of good matches.

It’s headlined by the match for the World Heavyweight Championship, with Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose vs Randy Orton. Silly rumours for that one involve a Shield reunion. That ain’t happening.

Let’s check out the betting odds:

WWE Payback 2015 Betting Odds:

  • John Cena (-900) vs Rusev (+500)
  • Seth Rollins (-2450) vs Field (+1150)
  • Wade Barrett (-125) vs Neville (-115)
  • Dolph Ziggler (+165) vs Sheamus (-205)
  • The New Day (-385) vs Kidd/Cesaro (+265)
  • Bray Wyatt (-225) vs Ryback (+175)
  • Axel/Sandow (-390) vs The Ascension (+270)

WWE Payback 2015 Betting Tips & Analysis:

John Cena (-900) vs Rusev (+500): Much like last month – it seems like a foregone conclusion that Cena is winning this one. A pity that Rusev will go down 3-1 to Cena in PPV matches, but clearly he’s got a storyline planned involving Lana. Cena also has the open US Title challenge which is huge for him and WWE. It’s really caught on and WWE will want it to continue. Cena to win, but at those odds I’m not betting.

Seth Rollins (-2450) vs Field (+1150): There are also various bets for this like Roman Reigns vs the field etc. But it doesn’t matter. Everything so far is suggesting Rollins vs Lesnar at Summerslam. While I don’t believe that will end up being the case – there also seems to be no reason for Rollins to lose the title here. No bet.

Wade Barrett (-125) vs Neville (-115): Two theories have me backing Wade Barrett here. It’s very possible that Neville or Ziggler will win the IC Title. Based on that, I’d expect one if not both of them to lose tonight. I also think WWE want to keep their new King strong – and a victory on PPV is one way to do that. HOWEVER here’s the one concern; WWE look to be protecting Neville. Look at the US Title Open Challenge – they protected him against John freaking Cena. The odds are this tight for a reason – and there’s a good chance WWE protect Neville at Payback as well. But Barrett really needs a win at the moment too. It’s the riskiest bet of the night – but we’ll go with Barrett.

Dolph Ziggler (+165) vs Sheamus (-205): Sheamus lost last month, which we capitalized on. Just can’t see him losing this month. Plus the IC Title theory mentioned above. Let’s go with Sheamus as well.

The New Day (-385) vs Kidd/Cesaro (+265): The New Day are catching on big time and it’d be a huge mistake to take the titles off them. Kidd/Cesaro look like they’re going to be a good face team chasing for the titles. If you’re comfortable betting those odds – we’ll take the New Day.

Bray Wyatt (-225) vs Ryback (+175): Wyatt will probably get the win here. Ryback was injured on Smackdown which may play into the storyline of the match. It seems like your standard WWE mid card feud and WWE will put the hell over the first. Go with Wyatt.

Axel/Sandow (-390) vs The Ascension (+270): Really can’t see Axel/Sandow losing if they’re serious about them. But then they could break them up here too and feud the two. You know how WWE are. No bet.
